Alright, after a bit of trial and error (and reading a few forum posts), I decided to write a simplified guide to registering a web wallet. I did this on Linux, but I’m sure the solution is similar on Windows/Mac
You may have noticed that when you click on the (Register) button in the web wallet interface that it doesn’t do anything. Perhaps you were a dummy like me and actually waited a couple of hours after clicking (Register) only to find out that you wasted all of that time. Here is the solution:

Create a web wallet if you haven’t already and write down the wallet name and password

In the web wallet interface - Click on settings, enter your password, and view your seed phrase. If you can’t see the words, select a different language and then toggle back to English. Write down your seed phrase.

Download the CLI (Command Line Interface) wallet for your system here - DERO Download

Put the downloaded folder onto your Desktop (to make the next steps easier, otherwise you have change directories)

Open up a terminal window (I think it is also called terminal on Mac and Command Prompt/Powershell on Windows. Some Linux distros call it the console) and type in the following:
/home/username/Desktop/dero_linux_amd64/dero-wallet-cli-linux-amd64 --remote
note: the ‘home’ and ‘username’ will be different for you, depending on your personal setup, but if you can’t figure it out, you can also just change the directory using
cd Desktop/dero_linux_amd64
and then type
dero-wallet-cli-linux-amd64 --remote
note: If you are on Windows/Mac, you’re gonna need to replace the ‘linux’ terms with ‘windows’ or ‘mac’
then press 3 and hit enter to recover a wallet from a seed phrase, enter in all of the required prompts and then press 4 and hit enter to register your wallet to the blockchain. Wait a few minutes for everything to update and BOOM, you should be registered.
Now, go back to your web wallet, refresh the browser page, log back in using your wallet name and password… aaaaaaaaannnnnddd WALLAH!! You should have a fully functional web wallet, no viagra required.
Hopefully this helps those who are frustrated with repeatedly pressing the (Register) button to no avail. Long live DERO!
