Welcome and thank you all for your support and respect. That gives the strength and motivation to keep going strong and to explore next-gen technologies.

Every part of the DERO blockchain from P2P protocol, Consensus protocol, POW, Forking, Security, Scalability, Wallets is being re-designed to meet DERO vision.

We are working on blockchain that will be scalable to TeraBytes, serving millions and countries everyday, yet fast, private, truly decentralized, secure and reliable.
There were several challenges which have been solved to become one of the most usable blockchain.

At the moment second rewrite of entire blockchain(Codename DERO-Atlantis) is under progress to meet the DERO vision. DERO-Atlantis will be next revolutionary upgrade of existing current generation blockchain technologies.

DERO-Atlantis few features:

• Block time of ~3 seconds.
• ~500 TPS(Transactions Per Second).
• No orphan blocks.
• Faster settlements and confirmation times of less than 60 seconds. Change spending will be allowed after ~60 seconds.
• Optional Extremely light weight, mobile and offline wallets.
• New Dero address specifications to allocate wallets to everyone. Wallets will be lightweight, private, secure, with support of shadow addresses(infinite). Family-members, Cars, IOTs etc. can have shadow addresses. Shadow addresses are linked to primary wallet and can be used independently just like primary wallet. Example: Refrigerator can have shadow address for independent transactions and records.
• Primary address can view/control shadow address balances etc. but not vice-versa.
• Native blockchain without any lightning networks, validators or off-blockchain solutions.

Expect DERO-Atlantis to launch and completely operational in another 30-45 days. Designing and Writing DERO-Atlantis is taking lots of efforts and resources. we planned to directly shift on DERO-Atlantis but attacks on CryptoNote and other blockchains forced to migrate earlier. DERO blockchain was successful in thwarting all attacks.
Smart Contracts will be of not much practical use if it takes 3 minutes to open a door or if refrigerator takes ~25 minutes to confirm order. Dero Whitepaper , DERO-Atlantis technical papers etc. will be released in coming weeks.
DERO-Atlantis will be the base of DERO blockchain and Smart contracts.

Specific Updates:

• Source code: DERO project source code will be availiable in coming weeks.
• POW: POW will be defintely changed to make it more egailtarian in DERO-Atlantis. Few algorithms have been short listed for DERO’s next POW and are under tests to handle scalabilty, verifiabilty, DoS issues etc. Right now there is no change in POW as we are already in process of migration to new blockchain next month.

As regards to roadmap, We are ahead of schedule and hope to keep the same.

We are working hard and hope to deliver one of the most usable blockchain technology which will be useful for coming generations. We believe there’s much more to explore and achieve in blockchain technology. There’s lot more going on behind the scenes and will be updating in coming days.

Welcome and thank you all for your support and respect. It’s really great to see such vibrant and positive atmosphere surrounding DERO.

Atlantis Update:
Following blockchain technologies has been implemented in Atlantis:

DERO-DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph): DERO Atlantis will be DERO-DAG based. DERO-DAG is mineable, POW based, fully linear with same level of security as blockchain.
No orphans, scalability limits defined by resources(Compute, Network, Storage etc.)

Client Protocol: It handles same transactions mined by two different miners in different blocks mostly due to luck/Network lag.

Bulletproofs: Smaller transaction sizes for CryptoNote Protocol.

Ultra Compact Blocks: Faster block propagation times and low network usage.

Core progress on track.
Explorer, wallets too are being re-written to handle Atlantis.

In another 15 days Atlantis will be released for alpha-tests and Hopefully before next monthly update we would be on Atlantis.

Existing blockchain technologies were insufficient for Dero requirements and vision so Dero Atlantis was written even though there was not any reference on roadmap.
Dero Atlantis succesfully launched on 27th June 2018 with following features:

• DAG Based: No orphan blocks, No soft-forks.
  

• No 51% attacks.
  

• 12 Second Block time.
  

• Extremely fast transactions with 2 minutes confirmation time.
  

• SSL/TLS P2P Network.
  

• CryptoNote: Fully Encrypted Blockchain
  

• BulletProofs: Zero Knowledge range-proofs(NIZK).
  

• Ring signatures.
  

• Fully Auditable Supply.
  

• DERO blockchain is written from scratch in Golang.
  

• Developed and maintained by original developers.
  

Dero Filesystem:
As we are proceeding with Smart Contracts, we discovered one of the features required for successfull and practical Smart Contracts is data storage. Dero Team is evaluating DFS(Dero FileSystem) based on DHT(Distributed Hash Table) for Dero Smart Contract requirements. Dero blockchain will provide access and storage to DFS. Expecting Dero Smart Contracts before 2019.

Dero Foundation:
Dero foundation is in progress and will be incorporated in the light of new regulations. We expect Dero foundation to be incorporated within 2018.

Exchanges:
As everyone know its not easy to get listed on exchanges. But as Dero blockchain has so many first and innovations exchanges are showing interests in Dero and some has even lowered their listing fees.
Waiting for some updates from few exchanges and will update later as there is progress. We hope to get some good exchanges within next month.

Dero always works on cutting edge technology and research to deliver the best in blockchain technology. As technology is integral and crucial part of any blockchain project same goes for adoption. For mass adoption of project first requirement is - It should be easy, safe and secure to use for everyone including non-technical and novice users. Operating and using Dero from now on will be as easy as just opening a website in browser on desktop, mobile phones, IPAD, tablets etc. With that we would like to announce new Dero web wallet in browser.

Dero web wallet has following features:

• Dero web wallet runs completely in browser without any external requirement.
• Dero web wallet directly interfaces with Dero daemon, No any extenal backend or any hidden interface.
• Dero web wallet means your keys are yours and they never leave your browser in any shape/form.
• Entire cryptography including Ring signatures, Dero Rocket bulletproofs, ED25519 etc. runs in web browser.
• Entire processing is in web browser.
• Ability to send/receive, import/export multiple wallets are supported.
• Any one can host web wallet with just Dero daemon.
• Extremely light weight, Typical Dero web wallet requires 512KB-2MB of space.
• All communication are SSl/TLS encrypted with daemon.

Dero web wallet uses HTML5/Web Assembly technology and requires recent web browsers.

With Dero web wallet, Dero moves close to it’s vision including ease of use, accessibility and mass adoption. Dero web wallet has been designed with keeping in usage and requirements of Dero Smart Contracts. Dero web wallet can be used on any desktop/mobile devices for KYC, transactions, votings, authentications etc. as discussed in the whitepaper.

Though not on roadmap but Dero web wallet became necessary for Smart Contracts testings, integrations, interfacing and executions. Dero web wallet will be released in coming week.

APRIL Update
20 APRIL 2019

As we progress into quarter two of 2019, it is time to update the community on a few key areas of focus from the DERO team.

We will share the details with you below as DERO moves into its next phase of development.

We have some great news for you with regards to the DERO Foundation. After spending time researching the rules and regulations of many jurisdictions, the foundation has finally found a home. One of the key issues we have found when searching for a home for the DERO Foundation was ever-changing laws and restrictions to certain features. We needed to ensure that we found a stable environment where the project could thrive.

The process of forming the foundation has begun and we expect that within the next three months, all of the legal work will be completed and we will be able to share with you more details.

We appreciate your patience as we pave the way for future advancement of this project.

DERO aims to partner with like-minded industry leaders, like Beaxy, to promote mutual growth and learning within the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. As such, each project has pledged to;

· Contribute to dynamic internal community growth of partner channels, leveraging social content and community curation strategies to build long-term sustainable communities for the greater health of the crypto space.

· Provide a transparent exchange experience, with direct communication for community members with Beaxy representatives

· Facilitate new audience growth and user acquisition from areas outside of crypto by discussing and executing external marketing strategies, like advertising and event hosting

· Offer technological resources to facilitate integration of unique blockchain components

· Adopt unique value laden tech of partner projects in ways that can help users to have a better user experience

Beaxy is excited to work with DERO to further these initiatives.

In the last update we asked which option would be preferred as to decide the winner of the Smart Contract Build Competition, and it was a clear decision that the community wanted the Development Team to decide on the winner. We would like to make this a 50/50 split with the community, so there is input from both sides and we will have a decision of how this will be completed in the coming weeks.

The upcoming major release for this project, named Stargate, aims to provide an unprecedented level of usable privacy and security features by implementing the coveted Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). This will allow smart contract execution to be further protected as states, and the encrypted data within, is never exposed or decrypted. While there are many FHE schemes in use today, performance issues have prevented widespread adoption, or there are varying security trade-offs that may prevent use in critical systems. In light of these challenges, we sought to offset any risks with the privacy and security features already existing within our ecosystem.

It is with great pleasure and utmost gratitude for our development team that we are proud to announce the completion of our Fully Homomorphic Encryption implementation on the DERO platform. We know that it has been an incredible journey thus far, but we are nearing the light at the end of the tunnel. In the next few days, we will be releasing our implementation to a pre-selected closed focus group that will get a hands-on opportunity to test and provide feedback on the release. More importantly, the focus group will help us shape the documentation and deployment of the release for general public testing on our testnet. Invitations have already been sent, so participants know if they have been selected. We look forward to your feedback and assistance.

At the conclusion of our closed testing period, all details (including the source code) will be available for public viewing and a public testnet period to follow. We are excited to see all of the creative applications that our community developers will begin to build.
